Our College

As one of Queensland’s leading Catholic girls schools, St Rita’s College seeks to develop students who are not only passionate, inquisitive and engaged learners but who become confident, compassionate and courageous young women who are prepared to make a difference in the world.

Founded in 1926 by the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St Rita’s College has grown into a vibrant learning community that nurtures curiosity, fosters creativity, celebrates diversity, and lives out a deep commitment to service learning and social justice.

Today, the College continues this mission as a ministry of Mercy Partners, grounded in the Presentation tradition of compassion, hospitality, and simplicity. These values, together with the life lessons of the College namesake, St Rita of Cascia - courage, justice, and hope - form the foundation of everything the College does.

Guided by the example of our College Patrons, Venerable Nano Nagle and St Rita of Cascia, two great women of faith and strong women of action, students are empowered to be thinkers and leaders: to stand with courage, act with purpose, and serve with compassion. Ultimately, they are inspired and challenged to go one pace beyond.

In teaching students, the courage to stand alone and the power of standing together, they are challenged to be women of action not just words – Virtute non Verbis
